taringa!
Rebranding and Graphic Designer Sr.
taringa! was an Argentinian social network focused on Spanish-speaking users. It had more than 27 million users in 2013 and was named the largest and most used social network in Latin America.
taringa! was bought by IOVLabs in 2019 with the plan of becoming part of their ecosystem based on their RIF tokens economy and decentralized Web 3.0 model. The idea was to revamp the latin american icon into a creator focused network.

Some of my tasks as part of the marketing and design team for taringa! included:
-
Creating promotional images and content for their channels
-
Developing strategies within the marketing team for the relaunch of the platform but as part of a Web 3.0 ecosystem
-
Creating illustrations sold as NFTs
-
Developing assets for their new app like icons, buttons and illustrations
-
Collection of 150 NFTs based on pixel art style with different characters
-
Collection of 300 NFTs based again on pixel art style with randomized attributes or traits.
-
In charge of their whole rebranding of taringa! as this was the first time it had a marketing and design team behind it since their creation.

The rebranding was based on the circle and the use of the iconic exclamation point from the brand to create different graphic assets that could be used across platforms and brand communication.

While working with taringa! I had the opportunity to travel to Buenos Aires to meet the whole IOVLabs team and get to know and learn from the Web 3.0 company they run and got to experience their blockchain infrastructure first-hand.
Despite taringa!'s rapid user and activity growth, internal strategic decisions from taringas' parent company led to the closure of this business unit, which we smoothly led taking care of every aspect regarding users, creators and partners.
